KARRI TRAHIN PEREZ

JULY 19 1959 – JANUARY 27 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of karri Perez announces her unexpected passing at the age of 59 on Sunday, January 27th, 2019. A resident of Agana, she was a tenured professor of Global Resources Management at the University of Guam. She thrived as a human resources and project management specialist, and was a successful entrepreneur. She was a published author and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Radford University, her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and her doctoral degree in human and organizational systems from Fielding Graduate Institute. She traveled the world and consistently sought new opportunities for education, and was a vibrant, intelligent and beautiful woman who will be dearly missed by all of those who loved her.

Karri was born on July 19, 1959 in Buffalo, NY and was preceded in death by her parents Laverne and Thomas Trahin. She is survived by her husband and life partner of 30 years, Gerald ” Gerry” S.A. Perez; her children and their spouses, Trayanna Whiting (Macauley), Patricia Lutes (Christopher), and Allen Dickens; grandchildren Amelia, Macauley, Helen and Olivia; sister  Sherri Trahin (Michael); step-children Sherry Roberg-Perez (Kevin), Steven Perez (Ronnie) and Mike Perez; step-grandchildren Sophia, Liam, Oliver, Noah, Steven, Samantha, Amanda, and many other relatives and friends. 

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the University of Guam Fieldhouse and an interment will  follow at Our Lady of Peace Memorial Gardens in Windward Hills.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the University of Guam Endowment Foundation to establish the Karri Perez Entrepreneurial Scholarship Fund.
